The Rule of Cat

Any space left open for the use of desk activities shall be considered fair game for any cat to lie upon, fully extended, for hours at a time. Even if the space in question on the desktop is holding paper, pens, keyboard and/or a computer mouse. All of these things can and will be knocked to the floor so that the cat may have more space.

Ah yes, I know this rule well. But don’t forget the rule that a human’s lap is always preferable to any other sleeping surface, so long as that human is attempting to read the newspaper at the time.

I think Frinklin would agree with you, and ad "lap is always the cat's territory, especially when playing video games." Moby (the white and gray 22 lb. cat hiding in the cabinet in the below pictures) lies across his arms and makes them go numb.
